LRC Coaching Staff

Director - C.B. Bechtel

The coaching staff is under the direction of C.B. Bechtel. Starting his 6th season as Director, C.B. is a level 300 certified coach with more than 20 years of experience coaching and developing skiers, cyclists and runners.

A 1998 Graduate from Princeton Theological Seminary in youth and theology, C.B. has extensive training and experience in both youth work and ski coaching which gives him a unique set of skills to help our young athletes achieve new levels in skiing, and life as well.

"The two things I'm most passionate about are ski racing and working with youth. This gives me the opportunity to combine those two things and invest my life in something that gives me great joy. I look forward to playing a bigger goal in helping all of you achieve your goals in ski racing."

Head Coach - Mark Archer

Mark has dedicated his life to the sport of ski racing for over 45 years, as a top am & pro racer, while coaching successfully for more than 25 of those years in several coaching roles. With major Junior programs, & National team/regional camps/training projects throughout the US., Canada, & Europe.

He has coached and mentored several Juniors from the club/regional level on to there respective national ski teams. All who enjoyed successful world cup/olympic/world championship career's too. Mark spent last season as the Men's Head FIS J1/J2 coach with MT. Hood Oregon's top ski racing program the Meadows Race Team.

J3 Development Coach - Jennifer Tank

Jenny joined the LRC coaching staff in November 2009. She is a recent graduate of the University of Denver where she was a member of the DU Ski Team 2005-2009 (NCAA Champions in 2008 and 2009). From 2000-2005 she was a member of the German National Team, competed mostly in Europa Cups and had one World Cup start in 2004.
Jenny grew up in Lenggries, Germany, home of many famous German ski racers. She has dedicated more than 10 years to highly competitive ski racing and now seeks to pass on her experiences and lessons learned to the present LRC racers and future Olympians. Jenny wants to help all LRC members maintain the love for the sport and the enthusiasm that she shares and teach them to succeed in all aspects of life.
Besides working with the kids, Speedy, and Gunnar she enjoys reading, movies, and traveling the world.

J3 Development Coach - Gunnar

J4 Development Coach - Don Rossi

Don has Level 1 coaching and Level 1 Referee USSA as well as being certified by the American Red Cross in First Aid Basics and CPR. In April he'll be at USSA Level 2 clinic and he has passed the Alpine Race Tactics & Alpine Training Environment courses.

On the Pro Tour, Don chose the victory schedule which meant he only earned monies when he made the quarter-finals, which is a tough way to earn a living. Don is also a Vietnam Veteran serving our nation in the Navy from December 1972 to December 1975 and was honorably discharged. Hell tell you he joined the Navy to see the world and thru a port-hole it is all water.

J4 Development Coach - Brittany Marsh

Brittany grew up competing for the Loveland Racing Club and later accepted a full ride to Colorado Mountain College in Steamboat Springs, where she competed in FIS and USCSA for two years as CMC's top performing female. After she received her Associate degree she decided to continue her education at Colorado State University in Fort Collins. She graduated in 2007 with a B.S. in Psychology with an emphasis in Sport and Performance Psychology. Brittany now brings her racing experience and education to LRC as a Level 1 Coach and enjoys furthering her passion for the sport by watching her athletes develop their skiing and helping them to achieve their goals.

Development Team Director - Jim Benson

Jim Benson, Director of The Development Team has used his knowledge to lead the D-Team to 5 YSL Championships and several second and third place finishes
